March 14, 2010 Here are the results of the East Region Indoor Championships held yesterday at the Sportsplex in Landover, MD. The turnout was probably a record and about double the biggest turnout in recent years -- we had upwards of 250 athletes registered (221 prior to late entries yesterday; haven't been able to get a final figure on those, but I was told it was at least 20). Records -- Audrey Lary in the W75 Superweight. She threw 6.99m, besting the old mark of 6.41m set by Gloria Krug at the East Region Meet in 2008. Other records set -- Audrey Lary in the W75 400m and Ty Brown in the M65 60mHH In the team championship race (combined men and women) the Potomac Valley Track Club bested Philadelphia Masters -- unfortunately I don't have the final tally.
